This position will primarily be responsible for serving our pet community with urgent care needs. Urgent Care is ideal for pets who need to be seen by a veterinarian and their condition is not life-threatening and doesn't require an overnight hospitalization. It's similar to when you would choose a human urgent care over the emergency room.

Requirements

  • Experience is required
  • Medication Clerk license preferred, will help you obtain if not currently licensed
  • Willingness to adapt to help a growing company succeed in both conventional and novel ways

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the BoosterPet medical team to provide quality medical care, model BoosterPet's core values
  • Ability to triage and complete vitals on behalf of our DVMs
  • Be tech savvy
  • Support BoosterPet urgent care services and wellness as needed
  • Complete detailed medical records with thorough medical history
  • Ensure medical records are accurate within the practice management system
  • Educate animal owners
  • Liaising with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure continuity of patient care
  • Follow all safety protocols to ensure safety of pets, clients, and team members
  • Administer medications and vaccines prescribed by a veterinarian
  • Maintain medication clerk licensure
  • Obtain and verify medications
  • Perform phlebotomy duties, and provide intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections
  • Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and people
  • Assist at front desk/kiosk and greet clients/patients upon entry
  • Answer phones and make appointments as needed
  • Administer first aid for emergencies
  • Help technicians induce/monitor and recover anesthetic patients
  • Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
  • Maintain safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, maintaining equipment and complying with legal regulations
  • Train new employees on standards of operations
  • Safely drive to various locations in the greater metropolitan Seattle area to support BoosterPet clinics as staffing needs arise
  • Other duties as assigned by managers
