About The Position

Join the VCA West Coast Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital team! Location: 18300 Euclid St., Fountain Valley, CA 92708 Schedule: Mon 2 pm - 12:30 am & Thurs - Sun 7 pm - 5:30 am Full-Time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour shifts Salary: 2 - 3 years of experience: $23.00 - $26.00 Swing Differential: $2.00/hour Overnight Differential: $3.00/hour ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule, and additional responsibilities. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must have experience working with the general public
  • Must possess basic knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital or other doctor’s office required
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Must possess a good understanding of financial and medical charges
  • Must possess sound decision-making skills and multitask while working in an environment of high stress
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional organization and time management abilities
  • Ability to train new employees to a level that will set them up for success
  • Must be able to lift to 40 pounds at times.
  • Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.
  • This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand, crouch, and reach at times during a minimum 8-hour day.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee client flow to ensure that clients and patients are seen and treated in a professional, timely, and competent manner.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with clients in a professional manner
  • Ability to de-escalate situations with challenging clients
  • Direct complaints to management when needed
  • Communicating clients' updates to department technicians and doctors.
  • Ensure records are maintained accurately
  • Answering client referrals
  • Ensure communication tasks are completed daily
