The Veterinary Assistant also plays a key role in educating clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, and other important pet health needs, while ensuring that all medical charts are properly maintained. The Veterinary Assistant must utilize safe restraining techniques and follow standard protocols to ensure the safety of pets, clients, and associates. This includes maintaining clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. The role may also involve assisting with surgeries and mentoring other paraprofessionals in the hospital.
