About The Position

We’re seeking a DVM aspiring to become a practice owner. We’ve identified an attractive practice for sale in the Wayne, Pennsylvania area and are looking for the right veterinarian to co-own and grow it alongside Veterinary Practice Partners (VPP). This is an opportunity to step into leadership while building meaningful equity in a hospital. As Medical Director and co-owner, you will help guide the practice’s direction, shape its culture, and participate directly in its long-term success. You will not just practice in the hospital. You will help shape it and share in its success. About the Hospital The hospital is a well-established small animal practice serving a loyal client base in the Philadelphia Main Line region. It is equipped with modern diagnostics and designed to support efficient, high quality patient care. Ownership and Partnership with VPP Veterinary Practice Partners supports doctor-led hospitals. We do not rebrand your practice. Your hospital remains locally branded and reflective of your leadership. As Medical Director, you may participate in a structured co-ownership model with meaningful equity and defined participation in performance and growth. You lead the medicine. VPP provides operational, financial, HR, recruiting, and marketing support so you can focus on clinical excellence and team development. VPP supports more than 190 hospitals nationwide and over 200 doctor partners, including more than 100 first time veterinary owners.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree or equivalent
  • Active Pennsylvania veterinary license or ability to obtain
  • 3+ years clinical experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Leadership
  • Establish and uphold medical standards and practice protocols
  • Guide case management and clinical decision making
  • Ensure high quality patient care and clear client communication
  • Oversee medical record accuracy and charge capture
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and patient care offerings
  • Team and Practice Leadership
  • Support hiring and onboarding of veterinarians and support staff
  • Mentor associate veterinarians and support team development
  • Contribute to operational strategy and scheduling efficiency
  • Foster a collaborative, team first culture
  • Financial Oversight
  • Drive revenue growth while maintaining medical excellence
  • Participate in annual planning and performance review
  • Support marketing and community engagement initiatives
