We are a top-of-the-line animal hospital for pets in West Asheville, Candler, Woodfin, and surrounding cities. Our facility was built in 2021 with state-of-the-art tech, no animal hospital in Buncombe County offers better technology than WAFV. We are currently a two-doctor practice, and we are very excited to add a new veterinarian to our team! We are seeking a personable, enthusiastic, and motivated associate veterinarian to join our team! We welcome veterinarians of all experience levels as our doctors are enthusiastic to share their knowledge and mentor a recent graduate. Our hospital would be great for DVMs of varying interests as our services provided include a wide array of preventative medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and surgery. We have a wonderful work environment and a leadership team to support your goals. Our staff is very friendly, collaborative, and considerate. We take pride in our long-standing and dedicated clientele that allows us to practice quality medicine
Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
Responsibilities
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
