About The Position

Suburban Animal Clinic has been proudly serving Central Ohio since 1960, delivering top-tier care across a comprehensive range of services from routine wellness and dentistry to advanced orthopedic surgery, laser therapy, ultrasound imaging, and chiropractic care. Our modern hospital features state-of-the-art digital dental and traditional X-rays, a full in-house lab, ultrasound, and dedicated surgical and dental suites. You'll join a supportive team consisting of experienced DVMs and skilled RVTs who assist with anesthesia, dentals, and more. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full -Time Associate Veterinarian to work alongside our collaborative team in delivering exceptional veterinary care. This role offers flexibility, a balanced schedule, and meaningful engagement with pets and pet owners in a friendly community practice.

Requirements

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex exams, diagnostics, treatment planning, surgeries, and dental procedures
  • Collaborate closely with RVTs and support staff to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care
  • Educate clients on pet health, wellness, and preventive strategies
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support practice's shift to digital workflows
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
