About The Position

Since 1985 Valley Animal Hospital of Merced has been serving the dogs, cats, exotics, and pocket pets of Merced, CA with top-notch veterinary care. We are proud winners of the 'Favorite Veterinary Clinic' in Reader's Choice Awards Merced Sun-Star for 3 years in a row! Our comfortable and inviting hospital boasts superb veterinarians and caring support staff that are dedicated to our patients, clients, and community. VAH is involved in the Merced Community and in the Animal Rescue community. We provide a Low Cost Spay/Neuter through a program administered by a local non-profit group. We are seeking a Full-Time/Part-Time Veterinarian to join our community-focused practice.

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in California.
• Experience in small animal medicine and surgery preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with large animal medicine is a plus.
• Interest in mentorship and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary care to dogs, cats, exotics, and pocket pets.
• Perform advanced soft tissue, orthopedic, and dental surgeries.
• Utilize digital x-ray, ultrasound, and in-house IDEXX CBC/Chem.
• Participate in mentorship and training programs for new graduates.
• Engage with the community and support animal rescue initiatives.
