  • Review and approve work of other Veterans Service Representatives for technical accuracy and clarity.
  • Ensure notices of decisions are prepared with an empathetic tone and are understandable to claimants.
  • Make administrative decisions regarding qualifying military service and character of discharge.
  • Authorize administrative decisions made by other Veterans Service Representatives.
  • Explain final decisions to veterans expressing dissatisfaction with determinations.
  • Use electronic data processing systems for claims adjudication and correspondence preparation.
  • Act as an advocate for veterans and their beneficiaries in dealings with other VA elements.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to apply for this job.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must meet time-in-grade requirements for GS-11 position.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-10 level, including adjudicating and authorizing veterans' claims.
