Requirements

Experience working or volunteering in a shelter or social service setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to remain calm in high-stress or emergency situations.
Commitment to treating all individuals with empathy, dignity, and without bias or judgment.
Willingness to perform cleaning and support tasks as needed.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Monitor the shelter environment to ensure safety, security, and well-being.
Provide respectful, trauma-informed support to guests, including meal and supply distribution.
Assist with guest check-in/check-out processes and curfew procedures.
Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies; complete accurate documentation.
Maintain cleanliness and order in shelter spaces, encouraging guest participation.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations.
Uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and compassion in all interactions.
Support emergency shelter activations during severe weather events.
