About The Position
The position involves counseling and advising claimants regarding their rights and due process, including personal hearings and the appellate procedure. The role requires reviewing applications, forms, and documents, assisting in their completion before submission to the Veterans Administrator or other governmental agencies to ensure proper documentation and relevant evidence is attached. Additionally, the position entails reviewing decisions made by the Veteran's Administration and other government agencies, preparing and submitting rebuttals and supporting documents for consideration, and consulting with various professionals regarding benefits and services for claimants. The individual will serve as a liaison between claimants, Veteran Service Organizations, and the Veteran's Administration, as well as prepare and maintain standard records and reports as required by the Veterans' County Service Director and other governmental entities. The role also includes visiting veterans and their dependents in various facilities to counsel and file claims as necessary, maintaining contact with veterans' organizations to keep them informed of changes in benefits, and performing other duties as assigned.
