About The Position

The Office of the Registrar at James Madison University is seeking applications for the full-time position of Veteran Benefits Specialist. This is an in-person, 40-hour per week, employment opportunity. Requirements

  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully interpret and apply complex institutional, state, and national regulations and laws
  • Have outstanding, proven customer service experience
  • Have outstanding, proven attention to detail
  • Already be a School Certifying Official, or be willing to undergo training to become an approved School Certifying Official shortly after employment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a higher education setting
  • Functional knowledge of student administration systems, preferably PeopleSoft

Responsibilities

  • The Veteran Benefits Specialist will manage multiple educational benefits programs available to qualifying veterans and/or their dependents while ensuring compliance under applicable institutional, state, and national regulations and laws.
