About The Position

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic is looking for experienced Veterinary Technicians to join their team. The role involves providing high-quality veterinary care and exceptional service to pet owners, with responsibilities that include supporting doctors, caring for patients, and interacting with clients. The clinic operates 24/7, offering both emergency and routine care for a variety of animals, including pets and farm animals. Candidates must be prepared for rotating on-call shifts and select holidays.

Requirements

• Previous veterinary practice experience required.
• CVT or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to stay calm and efficient during high tension situations.
• Ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine including pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, and laboratory testing.
• Triage to identify emergencies and illnesses.
• Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis, including placing feeding tubes and intravenous catheter placement.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medication, and disease processes.
• Administer oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications.
• Position and capture digital radiographs.
• Utilize computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients and team members.
• Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery of anesthesia.
• Maintain attention to detail and a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
• Practice low-stress handling of patients.
• Advocate for patients' needs.
