About The Position

The Lead Vet Technician at Allentown Animal Care plays a critical role in overseeing and delivering high-quality veterinary support services to ensure the health and well-being of animals under our care. Requirements

• Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or equivalent) from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience within a veterinary or animal care environment.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and animal handling techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology or related field.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and inventory management software.
• Advanced training or certification in anesthesia, surgical assistance, or emergency care.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a veterinary clinic or animal care facility.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on client education and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures, ensuring adherence to safety and care standards.
• Manage patient records, prepare treatment plans, and administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Train and mentor junior veterinary technicians, providing guidance on clinical techniques and professional development.
• Maintain and sterilize medical equipment, monitor inventory of supplies, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding animal care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up procedures.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement protocols that improve patient care and clinic efficiency.
