About The Position

Monroeville Pet Hospital is a small, two-doctor, AAHA-accredited hospital east of Pittsburgh. We are looking for a full-time or part time veterinary technician with a strong work ethic and the desire to work with a close-knit team. We provide care for canine and felines only. Our practice has a dedicated surgical suite and dental suite, four exam rooms, digital radiology, IDEXX in house lab machines, AVIMark software and much more!

We are open Monday through Friday at this time.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a veterinary technician is required.
• Background check is required.

Nice To Haves

• CVT/LVT/RVT License is preferred for this role but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with doctors, staff and clients
• Ability to fill and understand medications and relay directions to clients
• Ability to collect and prepare laboratory samples
• Ability to read urinalysis, ear cytology’s, and fecal samples
• Ability to use a doppler for blood pressure measurement
• Reliably place IV catheters
• Ability to administer medications (IV, IM, SQ, Oral, Topical)
• Comfortable monitoring anesthesia
• Comfortable recover patients after anesthesia
• Knowledge of normal patient parameters
• Assist in radiographs
