About The Position

Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, Massachusetts is looking to add a team member to our Anesthesia Department! We are looking for an experienced technician with a passion for anesthesia and patient care. This could be the job for you! As a Treatment Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering top-tier care to a diverse range of hospitalized patients across multiple departments. Your skills will be key in ensuring our patients receive excellent care, from collecting samples to administering medications and calculating dosages. You will monitor and assess patients, perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and respond appropriately in various situations. Additionally, you will educate and update pet owners with empathy, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience for both clients and patients.

Requirements

  • Strong technical skills (venipuncture, local blocks and epidurals, arterial catheter placement).
  • Ability to evaluate patients and generate anesthetic plans.
  • Ability to prepare patients for anesthetic procedures, including induction and intubation, monitoring and post-operative recovery care for a variety of surgical procedures.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform different radiographic techniques.
  • Strong mathematical skills for drug calculations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot anesthetic equipment.
  • Proficiency in record keeping related to medical procedures.
  • Understanding and review of medical records pertinent to patient care.
