About The Position

The Veterinary District Sales Manager at Royal Canin is responsible for executing the Vet Business Unit strategy and achieving business objectives and KPIs by identifying new opportunities and Vet influencers within a defined geography. This role involves utilizing market data and driving a sustained Vet ecosystem through innovation and digital solutions. The manager works cross-functionally to develop new business in under-penetrated urban centers and clinics, aiming to increase relevance, clinic access, and Vet recommendations. This is an individual contributor, field-based role requiring daily customer calls within the assigned territory. Requirements

  • 2+ years sales experience
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral and written)
  • Possession of a driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Overnight travel required, occasional weekends for conferences; approximately 20-30% travel
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team-based environment
  • Adept at working in highly fluid, complex, and ever-changing environments

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for execution of the Vet Business Unit strategy and achievement of business objectives/KPI’s by identifying new opportunities and Vet influencers within a defined geography
  • Utilize market data and drive a sustained Vet ecosystem by leveraging innovation and digital solutions
  • Develop new business in under penetrated urban centers and clinics to grow relevance, access to clinics and Vet recommendation
  • Make daily calls in the field to customers in your assigned territory
  • Translate knowledge of our products, categories, customer, and market data into new business opportunities (within the market and underdeveloped clinics)
  • Prioritize time based on opportunity and level of clinic influence in market
  • Translate customer pain points into experimenting with creative, new ideas to bring value to the clinics
  • Understand clinic operational needs to provide strategic advice and help clinics build their online presence by working closely with them in a consultative role
  • Develop and maintain a high technical competency for eCommerce-related tools and various platforms that generate diverse revenue for clinics
  • Establish and grow relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within urban centers
  • Develop and deliver compelling, data-driven presentations to address the unique needs of the Veterinary staff
  • Develop strong working relationship with key stakeholder groups across the BU & organization
  • Balance the needs and interests of multiple internal and external stakeholders (market influencers, transversal, Account teams, Digital Sales, Inside Accounts and Scientific Affairs)
  • Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Effectively execute the Veterinary Business Unit sales strategy within urban center
  • Work in a cross-functional team-based environment
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with Line Manager and routinely adjust the strategies, tactics, and investments based on changing needs to maximize territory performance
  • Manage an expense and sales budget
  • Complete CRM call reports, expense reports and presentations in a timely and accurate manner
