About The Position
The Assistant Port Engineer will work under the direction of the Stevens Towing Vessel Managers and NC Operations Manager. This position involves the receiving, storage, and distribution of various supplies and parts for a tug fleet consisting of 6-7 tugs. The role also includes the transportation of tug crew to various locations within the Edenton / Elizabeth City area, as well as the transportation of parts and tug supplies between Edenton and Morehead City. Additional responsibilities include assisting the tug fleet with fueling, routine maintenance, and garbage disposal, as well as aiding port engineers and mechanics with repairs and assisting vessel managers with the maintenance of required vessel paperwork and equipment. The applicant is expected to be reachable and available in the event of emergencies or after-hours issues, with some weekend and after-hours work required.
