About The Position

Job Responsibilities: Receiving, storage and distribution of various supplies and parts for tug fleet (6-7 tugs) Transportation of tug crew to various locations within the Edenton / Elizabeth City area (grocery store, rental car office, med-clinic, etc) Transportation of parts / tug supplies between Edenton & Morehead City Assist tug fleet with fueling, routine maintenance and garbage disposal Assist port engineer and mechanics with repairs (running to pick up parts, extra hands, etc) Assist vessel managers with maintenance of required vessel paperwork and equipment The Assistant Port Engineer will work under the direction of the Stevens Towing Vessel Managers and NC Operations Manager. Stevens Towing will supply a work vehicle for all driving. Applicant is expected to be reachable and available in the event of emergencies or after-hours issues. Some weekend and after-hours work will be required. You must upload a resume and cover letter to be considered. Requirements

  • Proficient with Word, Excel and email
  • Forklift operation
  • Valid Driver's License
  • TWIC Card or proof of application
  • Able to work effectively without direct supervision
  • Required to have a valid driver's license and TWIC.
  • Required to learn safety rules and become familiar with proper usage of safety equipment.
  • Required to comply with all Safety and Pollution Prevention Regulations and Procedures at all times under the direction of Stevens Towing Company, Inc.'s safety policies.
