About The Position
Great growth opportunity at AECOM for a Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our New York Metro team! This role can be worked from either our NYC, Piscataway or Bloomfield, NJ offices. The Vertical Transportation Engineer will design, develop, and review drawings and submittals on vertical transportation projects (elevators, escalators, and moving walkways). This professional will adapt and modify design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations. The selected candidate will have experience performing the following: Working closely with principal and senior designers to assist in the development of Vertical Transport Design. Producing drawings and associated reports and assisting with the preparation of vertical transportation project specifications. Inspecting installations and witness testing on site. Developing vertical transportation design concepts, calculating number, size and speed of lifts for all types of buildings including high rise. Designing and providing design feedback for elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. Retrofitting these into existing facilities with very congested existing systems and infrastructure. Undertaking lift traffic analysis, ideally utilizing Elevate® Producing reports including conceptual design, scheme design and preparation of reports at key RIBA design stages of projects.
