About The Position

The Vertex Internal Manufacturing Co-Op program is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards an undergraduate or advanced degree in Biomedical Engineering, Regulatory, or other related fields. Requirements

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Biomedical Engineering, Regulation, or another related field.
  • Works well both independently and in a team setting.
  • Multi-tasks to effectively manage own efforts on multiple projects, adhering to commitments.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, analytical capabilities, organizational/planning and coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple activities to expected deadlines.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future.
  • You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2026.
  • You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January - June 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Manages records in electronic quality management systems (eQMS) or electronic document management systems (eDMS), including data entry, tracking, and follow-ups with Owners to drive completion.
  • Assist QA personnel and system owners in the design and delivery of analyses, metrics and KPI dashboards to allow real-time assessment of system compliance and to inform decision making.
  • Support in day-to-day QMS processes, QA process improvement projects, inspection readiness and the development of SOPs, procedures and reports.
  • Performs Archival of QA Records in eDMS (e.g., CMO batch records, data packages).
  • Participate in the investigation of failures and implementation of action plans for non-conformances, internal corrective actions, and audit findings.
  • Work with quality and manufacturing teams to ensure quality procedures are followed in all manufacturing areas.
  • Use Lean / Six Sigma tools to analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize software tools to capture non-conformance data in order to analyze and identify trends for corrective actions or escalations.
  • Performs administrative functions for larger project teams and departments.
