The Vertex Corporate Communications Operations Co-Op program is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards undergraduate or advanced degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or other related fields. If you are passionate, collaborative, and growth-minded, a co-op at Vertex will help you gain meaningful experience in our corporate communications functional areas and serve as a launchpad for your career. Corporate Communications serves as a key business partner across the organization telling Vertex's corporate story to internal and external audiences through our disease areas and culture, enhancing our overall reputation. The Global Corp Comms team sits in countries around the world including our global headquarters in Boston, international headquarters in London, across Europe and beyond. Within Corp Comms, the Operations team sits in a unique position to support the team in a strategic way, including but not limited to budget and long-range planning, measurement and metrics, process management, development, upskilling and societal issues and policy management.

  • Measurement and Metrics: Assist in telling Corporate Communications' story and impact through measuring key campaigns, corporate reputation, and establishing KPIs. Support the creation of quarterly reports shared with leadership.
  • AI Adoption and Best Practices: Support Corp Comms pilot group Jasper AI use case adoption and draft best practices and ways of working documents for how to best use the tool.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency. Document and define SOPs for key processes and implement project tracking tools across team.
  • General support: Provide administrative support for various communications initiatives. Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions and strategy discussions. Stay up to date on industry trends and happenings in the media.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Communications, Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or another related field
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights
  • Interest in AI technologies and their application in corporate communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
  • You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before June 2026
