About The Position

The Vertex Global Supply Chain, Risk Management Co-op program is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree. The Global Supply Chain Risk Management team is responsible for the ongoing management of our operational risks in the supply chain as well as our business continuity planning. Business Continuity Planning enhances organizational resilience by supporting the development, testing, and maintenance of plans to ensure the continuity of critical business functions during disruptions. This role encompasses risk assessment, documentation, training, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Global Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Third-Party Risk Management Office, and Corporate Risk Management, to strengthen preparedness against potential disasters and tracks adherence to mitigation action due dates. They also lead the effort to gather new risks, and mitigation plans as Vertex continues to grow.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree
  • Displays ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability to analyze complex processes and identify potential risks
  • Possesses strong organization skills
  • Possesses ability to work well both independently and in a team setting
  • Detail oriented
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and analytics, including experience with tools such as Excel, SmartSheet & PowerBI
  • Demonstrates the ability to assist in the execution of projects of diverse scope and complexity
  • Capacity to work full-time onsite in Boston, MA.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
  • You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before December 2026.
  • You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July – December 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in drafting, reviewing and updating Business Continuity Plans & Incident Management Plans
  • Conducts Business Impact Analyses and Risk Assessment to identify critical business processes and potential vulnerabilities
  • Supports the coordination, execution, and documentation of BCP/DR tabletop exercises and drills
  • Collaborates with internal and external key stakeholders to identify, mitigate, and manage supply chain risks while integrating effective recovery strategies
  • Establishes and monitors key performance/risk metrics for the supply chain risk management and Business Continuity processes
  • Represents Supply Chain on projects related to risk mitigation, operational resilience, and business continuity
  • Maintains risk database and participates in routine risk review meetings with key stakeholders such as Tech Ops, Quality, and Corporate Risk Management
  • Maintains Commercial Supply Chain’s Business Continuity Plans to document new initiatives to improve resilience
