Your Impact The Vertex Biologics and Devices Co-Op program is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards undergraduate degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or other related fields. If you are passionate, collaborative, and growth-minded, a co-op at Vertex will help you gain meaningful experience in our Biologics and Devices Quality functional areas and serve as a launchpad for your career. What you will be doing: This co-op with the Quality Systems team at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Boston, offers a unique opportunity to work within the Medical Device/Biologics Group. You will support quality assurance and compliance activities for medical devices and biologics. This role provides hands-on exposure to quality systems, including CAPA, deviation, change control, and documentation processes, and offers insight into vendor quality management and working in collaboration with internal groups.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in a Bio based engineering or science discipline.
Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational, analytical, and collaborative skills
Capacity to work full-time onsite in Boston, MA

You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before December 2026
You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July – December 2026

Responsibilities

Assist in documentation supporting the Quality Systems Management
Assist in managing CAPA, deviation, and change control activities to ensure that all product and process changes are documented and compliant with regulatory standards.
Support continual improvement initiatives to enhance overall quality processes.
Assist in the documentation and training requirements per established procedures.
Work alongside other QA and Development groups with our internal network to define better ways of working and operational improvements.
