Verification Specialist

The Verification Specialist is primarily responsible for processing various types of employment, education, professional license, and reference verification products related to employment screening. This position is accountable for working within the Federal, State, Client, and Paycom reporting guidelines to provide accurate background screening results. The role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. In this position, the Verification Specialist will make outbound calls to target sources to obtain necessary information for completing verifications. They will manage a queue of components, ensuring that each verification effort progresses appropriately. Detailed documentation of each call attempt and research activity is essential, as is the ability to receive inbound calls, fax requests, and utilize automated verification services to gather target source information. The specialist will also conduct interviews with professional references to verify candidates' employment history and communicate with candidates to obtain missing information or clarify details promptly. Maintaining regular contact with candidates to assist them throughout the screening process is crucial, as is collaborating with other teams to keep clients informed of any issues that arise during the screening process. The Verification Specialist must review and maintain a thorough understanding of service level agreements, performing work in accordance with clients' requirements. Staying up to date with procedures and service level agreements is vital to ensure that clients' needs are continually met. The specialist will also produce accurate reports for clients that reflect the full facts and adhere to accepted standards, all while conducting phone calls in a professional manner that embodies the philosophy of 'helping people get hired.'
