About The Position

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance verification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction over the phone and in person.
  • Experience with medical terminology preferred.
  • Typing skills of at least 45 words per minute required.
  • Familiarity with patient accounting software, especially AdvantX.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.

Responsibilities

  • Validate and enter patient information and insurance coverage into the computer system.
  • Communicate with physician offices and insurance carriers regarding patient insurance.
  • Conduct pre-verification of insurance for patients being admitted to the surgery center.
  • Resolve any issues with insurance coverage and escalate complicated issues to a supervisor or manager.
  • Interview patients and complete necessary paperwork for the admitting process.
