About The Position

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Verification Engineering Technician II to join our Advanced Concepts team in Bridgeton, MO. The candidate will support engineering with moderately complex engineering duties and other hands-on technical tasks primarily associated with the integration, test and demonstration of new DRS products and capabilities. The primary focus is to support Business Development priorities but may also include some contract program objectives. This role demands a highly motivated individual who can work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including travel to government and private test sites 50-75% of the time.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Familiarization of blueprints and wiring schematics
  • Must have strong mechanical skills
  • Willing and able to travel 50-75% of the time
  • U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus
  • Fundamental understanding of computer systems, operating systems, and configuration files, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering with moderately complex engineering duties and other hands-on tasks, particularly focusing on Internal Research and Development programs
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues during integration/test events
  • Reviews project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem and possible solutions, and to support the test design and setup
  • Utilize hands-on skills to include use of various hardware and software-related tools to troubleshoot, resolve issues, load software, etc.
  • Effectively manage and conduct tests and be familiar with test range operations
  • Work independently for several days
  • Work confidently in shop and lab environments and maintains a working knowledge of the DRS product base
  • Provides hands-on feedback to engineers
  • Sets up and conducts tests of units and components
  • Adapt to flexible test schedules and be prepared to adjust plans as necessary to meet project demands
  • Represent DRS in a professional manner at all times, ensuring high standards of conduct and performance.
  • May coordinate maintenance projects
  • Mentor and coach less experienced technicians
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
