Position Overview: Verification Engineer We are hiring a Verification Engineer who will be an individual contributor within the Engineering group. The individual will contribute to the development, testing, and troubleshooting of Cytovale’s IVD products. This role requires hands-on laboratory expertise and interaction across multiple areas of engineering including optical, thermal, fluidic, and electro-mechanical systems, instrument control software/firmware, data analysis pipelines, consumables, and reagents.
Requirements
- Bachelors in biological, life sciences, bioengineering fields. Candidates with a Bachelors in other engineering fields or with relevant laboratory or testing experience may be considered.
- Hands-on laboratory and testing experience.
- Technical interest to become proficient in assay and instrument troubleshooting.
- Ability to work in the United States.
- This position will be based in the San Francisco Bay area.
- Role is 5 days per week onsite to carry out role functions.
Nice To Haves
- Prior internship or work experience in the medical device industry (or other similar healthcare industry, such as IVD, biotech, or pharma).
- Experience with executing verification testing in the medical device industry.
- Experience with Python (or equivalent) and data analysis
- Knowledge of and practitioner of good laboratory documentation practices.
- Excellent communicator, detail-oriented, hands-on laboratory skills.
- Fast-learner with a “can-do” attitude and an ability to work independently.
- A strong desire to work in a small, fast-paced environment of a late-stage startup.
Responsibilities
- Run instrumentation to collect assay data.
- Execute calibration procedures and system checks to configure and evaluate instrumentation.
- Execute test procedures to support the design verification and validation, across hardware and software, of Cytovale’s electro-mechanical diagnostic system.
- Document results and write reports.
- Write experimental and test protocols.
- Work with Cytovale’s engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve assay or instrumentation issues.
- Help to maintain an orderly lab
