About The Position

The Venue Services Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall upkeep of the DAYTON LIVE facilities, which include the Victoria Theatre, Schuster Center, and Metropolitan Arts Center. This part-time position focuses on ensuring that all areas are presentable and sanitary for patrons and guests, adhering to high industry standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in housekeeping or property management preferred.
  • Ability to use a computer for email, scheduling, and online training.
  • Certifications in chemical use, equipment use, and repair or similar skills preferred.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work well independently.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ability to use basic cleaning equipment and handle heavy equipment and machinery.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Chemical use, Equipment use, and repair or similar skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the sanitation and cleanliness of all surfaces in restrooms and showers as assigned.
  • Stock all soap and paper products in restrooms.
  • Keep cleaning machines stocked and report any malfunctions to the Manager/Supervisor.
  • Report plumbing, electrical, or lighting issues to the Manager/Supervisor.
  • Spot clean windows regularly and perform full cleaning as directed seasonally.
  • Vacuum and clean carpets regularly as directed.
  • Sweep, spot clean, and buff marble surfaces as scheduled.
  • Dust and clean fixtures as directed or scheduled.
  • Remove and dispose of trash properly on a regular schedule.
  • Familiarize with proper chemical use and disposal procedures.
  • Maintain and repair all cleaning equipment as needed and report issues to the Manager.
  • Strip, wax, seal, and/or refinish areas at regular intervals as directed.
  • Adhere to the Venue Services dress code.
  • Take direction and work independently as needed.
  • Assist co-workers or patrons who request help.
  • Keep accurate accounting of time worked and report to the Manager.
  • Maintain a safe environment for co-workers and patrons by reporting unsafe conditions or damages promptly.
  • Interface with other departments as necessary.
  • Participate in setups and teardowns of events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
