QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma/GED, required. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited College or University preferred. Must have five (5) years' experience in facility operations or maintenance departments required with a minimum of three (3) years' supervisory experience required. Public assembly, hotel or shopping mall facility experience preferred. Working knowledge of personal computer software. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and drawings. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to diagnose and repair problems. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to speak, read and understand the English language. Ability to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks. Ability to manage a staff of 10-25 people. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 days SALARY/PAYGRADE: $30.67/HS-12 Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Direct train and supervise the Building Services and Grounds full and part-time staff ensuring event conversions and event cleanups are completed accurately, safely, thoroughly, and on schedule. Assist with hiring and evaluating Building Services and Grounds personnel. Discipline personnel and make recommendations to discharge when warranted. Responsible for the accuracy of information submitted by staff for payroll purposes (timecards, tardiness, and absenteeism). Document and report all occurrences during conversions that pertain to employee accidents or injuries and facility and equipment damage or misuse. Assess current building safety, storage, and maintenance needs and make recommendations to the Director and Assistant Director of the Berry Center. Assign internal staff or coordinate with CFISD Maintenance departments and outside contractors to facilitate all maintenance and repairs of the facility. Assemble and maintain a reference library of plans, specifications, and technical manuals from architects, contractors, and manufacturers. Assist with the annual operating budget, recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies and prepare specifications for purchases as needed. Communicate effectively in oral and written manner and prepare effective reports and correspondence. Other duties as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director of the Berry Center. Delegating tasks to 4 leads to complete work. Solicit bid/quotes for operational repairs and supplies. Coordinate and schedule Building preventative maintenance programs. WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals (herbicides and fertilizer), and loud noises. Frequent district-wide travel.
