About The Position

Be among the first to welcome Music Hall visitors as they arrive at Fair Park! This part-time position joins dozens of front of house team members who ensure the comfort, convenience, safety, and security of patrons during their visit to the Music Hall. Venue drivers welcome and assist patrons in getting from adjacent Fair Park parking lots to the Music Hall, and back to their vehicles at the end of each ticketed event. Overseen by the Senior Event Manager, this role will be cross trained in health, safety, and security procedures in addition to their core customer service training and responsibilities. In every interaction, Venue Drivers will ensure that all patrons have a safe and positive experience. This individual will remind patrons of the venue prohibited items policy, as well as other safety and security measures in place. They will also be available to effectively and politely assist those patrons who may have mobility challenges. Broadway Dallas is one of the region’s largest nonprofit arts organizations, presenting touring Broadway at the Music Hall at Fair Park, including approximately 15 eight-performance weeks, as well as concerts, comedy, dance, and dozens of other special events throughout the year.   This position requires regular on-site work in and around the Music Hall at Fair Park. Familiarity with Fair Park and its surrounding neighborhoods is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Access to consistent method of transport to/from the Music Hall at Fair Park and other designated work locations (venues, off-site event/meeting sites, etc.)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and hold a valid class C Texas State Driver’s License.
  • Have previous experience transporting guests in a motor vehicle
  • Subject to a yearly driving record review from the past 12 months
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
  • Availability to work at least 20% of all event shifts—approximately three performance shifts per two-week engagement
  • Familiarity with walkie-talkie/radio technology and etiquette
  • Demonstrated ability to assist people in and out of vehicles, including but not limited to assisting with mobility devices
  • Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in scheduling and directed tasks
  • Demonstrated professional and courteous manner and communication style
  • Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Familiarity with, and consistent access to, basic computer hardware and software including ability to use a laptop and smartphone/tablet, checking email/workplace messaging/scheduling software, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a CDL license with passenger endorsement
  • Fluency in another spoken language or ASL
  • Customer service experience
  • Demonstrated appreciation of musical theatre or the performing arts in general

Responsibilities

  • Greet patrons in a friendly manner and offer assistance
  • Verbally communicate Fair Park highlights, event details, and upcoming Music Hall programming
  • Escort patrons and staff to their designated Fair Park destination via a 29-person passenger shuttle or lower passenger capacity electric carts.
  • Use a radio for communication and emergency purposes
  • Assist guests with varying needs, including wheelchair or mobility assistance
  • Observe all workplace safety laws/guidelines including Fair Park speed limits and regulations
  • Be responsible for keeping vehicles clean, presentable, and damage-free at all times
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections for safety, damage, proper function, and misplaced items
  • Clean and dry patron seating areas and other portions of the vehicle between passenger trips as necessary
  • Report all vehicle issues immediately via the appropriate channels
  • Strictly enforce all safety and customer service policies, and escalate to Senior Event Manager as needed
  • Perform occasional light maintenance to vehicles based on individual employee’s skills
