About The Position

The Ventures Analyst/Associate role at Plug and Play Tech Center is a pivotal position within the Ventures Team, focusing on sourcing and evaluating startups for investment opportunities and supporting corporate partners with their technology needs. This role combines market research, startup mentorship, and collaboration with corporate executives to drive innovation and investment in emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Engineering, or Data Analysis.
• At least 2 years of experience in a startup environment and/or venture capital.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an unstructured environment.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Source Pre-seed, Seed, and Series A startups for investment opportunities and introductions to corporate partners.
• Assess promising startups using technology and industry knowledge.
• Promote Plug and Play to potential network partners including startups, investors, and corporations.
• Mentor startups on market entry, fundraising, and scaling.
• Analyze market dynamics and industry trends, and track the competitive landscape of startups.
• Support the deal team on investment opportunities.
• Build a network of Venture Capitalists and investors to support the program.
• Connect startups with industry-specific advisors and service providers.
• Conduct market and technology research to identify trends for corporate partners.
• Identify mentoring areas with corporations and industry experts.
• Conduct in-depth business analysis to identify new competitive opportunities.
• Evaluate startup performance and scalability using data-driven methodologies.
• Provide logistical support for events such as demo days and mentor sessions.
• Source and evaluate emerging tech solutions that align with corporate partner needs.
• Collaborate with corporate executives during deal flow sessions.
