About The Position

The position focuses on driving enterprise strategy and innovation through venture investing at Vanguard. The role involves identifying early-stage companies that align with Vanguard's mission and have the potential to enhance long-term value for clients. The candidate will participate in the entire investment process, from sourcing opportunities to monitoring portfolio performance, while collaborating with various internal teams and external networks.

Requirements

• Minimum of three to five years of related work experience.
• At least two years of experience in venture capital, private equity, corporate development, investment banking, or a similar field.
• Prior investing or M&A experience required.
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a similar concentration required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate venture investment opportunities through quantitative and qualitative analysis, including financial models and scenario analysis.
• Support the negotiation of investment terms, strategic partnerships, and pilot agreements, including drafting term sheets and long-form agreements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate market research and financial analysis to senior stakeholders.
• Work independently with attention to detail and deadlines, leading individual workstreams and contributing to the investment team.
• Create investment recommendation presentations and memoranda for executive stakeholders.
• Contribute to the strategy and operations of the venture investing function.
• Coach less experienced team members in research, analysis, investment thesis generation, and financial modeling.
• Exhibit strong conceptual thinking, time management, analytical problem solving, and negotiation skills.
• Travel to management meetings, investor meetings, conferences, and industry events as required.
