About The Position
Wellington Management is seeking a Venture Associate for its Wellington Access Ventures (WAV), a venture capital fund focused on early-stage technology investments. This role is integral to the continued expansion of our Private Investing capabilities. The Associate will be involved in all aspects of the deal process, working directly with our senior investment team to assist in sourcing, diligence, and management of portfolio companies. The ideal candidate will be a self-directed, hard-working team player who is passionate about private investing and aligned with investing in diverse and/or underrepresented founders. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team, gain foundational knowledge in venture investing, and establish a career in VC with clear potential for progression within WAV. The Associate will be responsible for conducting outbound market research and company mapping activities, performing due diligence on prospective portfolio companies, and building and maintaining financial models for current and prospective investments. Additionally, the Associate will draft investment memos, participate in investment committee discussions, attend target company management meetings, and assist with quarterly and annual reporting needs for Limited Partners. The role requires a strong analytical acumen, superior collaboration skills, and a growth mindset, as well as excellent communication abilities to effectively interact with management teams and internal partners. A passion for innovation and emerging technologies is essential, as the Associate will be expected to contribute to a highly collaborative investment environment and build strong relationships across various teams.
