About The Position

Purpose & Scope: Responsible for managing the Venipuncture Department, including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and in-servicing. Also responsible for departments adherence to Administrative, Personnel and Patient Care Service policies as well as JCAHO and CAP Regulations. Responsible for functions and operations of the Venipuncture area for all shifts. In addition, duties include management of supplies for the area. Responsible for service to all customers as well as maintaining the 80th percentile in patient satisfaction. Additional duties include coverage of Accession Area and Client and Courier Services in managers absence. Other responsibilities include monitoring latest safety devices for the department, as well as evaluating new techniques and equipment.

Requirements

  • Five years of healthcare/ medical - phlebotomy experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Five years of experience in the healthcare field is preferred.
  • Phlebotomy micro techniques are preferred.
  • Computer experience is preferred.
