About The Position

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide. The VM Specialist is responsible for ensuring vendor profiles are set up correctly. They will work closely with our Vendor Maintenance Specialist to verify details for all vendors' set ups, reactivations, and changes. This is a critical role in AP, so attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are a must. This candidate will also need to have strong communication skills, as they will be working with our branches and vendors via phone and email to complete the verification process.

Requirements

• Must provide documentation verifying legal work status.
• Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently.
• Ability to understand and comply with MRC guidelines and expectations, including Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Log requests that come in via email on a spreadsheet.
• Use various tools such as the internet and phone to validate that vendors are legitimate to protect the company from fraud.
• Obtain accurate payment remit information, which could include sensitive information like bank account numbers.
• Organize requests to work through them and meet the turnaround time efficiently.
• Respond to invoice processors when they need assistance with vendor profiles, tags, vendor reactivation, or setup.
• Conduct vendor check verification.
• Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.
• Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.
