About The Position

What is the opportunity? This position is responsible for implementing and managing the defined US WM Operations Vendor Management Strategy into day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to the formal vendor management program, internal policies and processes, in support of a consistent vendor oversight approach. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of a centralized data repository that will store critical vendor information, including contract information, and will ensure that all required documentation is maintained. This role will ensure strong governance practices are in place and enforced, ensuring our obligations under FINRA Regulatory Notice 21-29 are met, implementing proper vendor risk management practices, as well as lead and/or participate in strategic improvements on how vendor risk is monitored and reported across Operations, while fostering collaboration and building relationships across the Enterprise. This position interacts with various business lines as well as the functional units within the firm, providing superior service support to both internal and external customers. The individual in this position is expected to be a knowledgeable senior level liaison for both Operations and RBC. Incumbent must understand regulatory and organizational risks associated with vendor supported work processes. This position is responsible for adherence to policies, processes, procedures, standards and appropriate regulations related to both the RBC Capital Markets Broker Dealer and NY Bank Branch. What will you do? Oversight & Risk Management (40%) Implement and maintain effective process to manage supplier oversight and governance and ensure compliance with relevant RBC 3rd party policies and U.S. federal & local regulatory requirements. Track and manage upcoming vendor activities related to contract negotiations, supplier reviews, new policies and procedures, ensuring US WM Operations remains in compliance with all internal policies and is prepared for upcoming contract negotiations. Relationship Management & Business/Strategic/Cultural Alignment (30%) Partner with RBC Procurement, Technology and other Enterprise Centers of Governance on contract negotiations/renegotiations, Supplier Risk Management processes, and other vendor related responsibilities for all key vendor contracts owned by US WM Operations and/or provide key services to US WM Operations Leadership & Management (20%) Provide leadership, coaching and development support to the US WM Operations Vendor Management Oversight team to ensure overall performance meets or exceeds the established industry, regulatory and company standards for service, innovation and professionalism. Must-have Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field Securities license 7 or 99 (or able to obtain license within 120 days) 5+ years prior securities, banking, technology industry and/or job specific related experience 5+ years credit operations, project management, vendor management, analysis, and/or risk control experience 5+ years demonstrated and sound managerial experience leading and managing a team. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
  • Securities license 7 or 99 (or able to obtain license within 120 days)
  • 5+ years prior securities, banking, technology industry and/or job specific related experience
  • 5+ years credit operations, project management, vendor management, analysis, and/or risk control experience
  • 5+ years demonstrated and sound managerial experience leading and managing a team.
