About The Position

The VMI Technician position is responsible for deliveries or services of key vending account customers and customer cabinets / storerooms relative to inventory of gases, consumables and safety products. This position responds to inquiries or concerns from either walk-in or call in customers. They focus on servicing existing accounts throughout an assigned territory. Additionally, this position does basic troubleshooting and mechanical repairs as needed. Partners with customers to identify products and solutions through welcoming and engaging both walk-in and telephone call-in clients. Manages and maintains sales and quote data within the computer application system to provide accurate information and research for customers. Coordinates and supports all administrative and accounting-related procedures regarding payments and services sold. Aligns with and confirms that all vehicle manifests, labeling, and loads meet regulatory guidelines (DOT, FDA, OSHA) and Airgas safety standards. Collaborates with the service department to plan and coordinate customer orders, equipment requirements, and efficient shipments. Assesses and resolves basic mechanical needs and performs pre/post-trip vehicle inspections to confirm all safety items are in excellent working order. Ensures all safety principles are prioritized and upheld, fostering a safe working environment where any accidents or injuries are promptly reported and addressed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business, Welding Technology or Sales.
  • We are looking for approximately 2 years of product, warehouse and/or sales related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Valuable experience or a solid foundation in the gas, welding and safety supply industry with retail experience preferred.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with, or a readiness to develop knowledge in, MIG, TIG, and STICK WELDING is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing a forklift, or an eagerness to cross-train, is an asset.
