The Vehicle Wire Harness Assembler plays a key role in building high-quality electrical harnesses used across LEHR’s vehicle and equipment product lines. This position involves assembling, labeling, cutting, crimping, routing, and testing wire harnesses using both automated and manual machinery. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to LEHR’s standards of precision and reliability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–2 years of experience in wire harness or electrical assembly preferred
  • Understanding of electrical components, connectors, and crimp standards (e.g., Deutsch, Molex, AMP)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet production schedules with minimal supervision
  • Strong Work Ethic
  • Pre-Employment Background Check

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with wire processing equipment (e.g., Schleuniger, Komax, Artos) - a plus

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics, and build instructions to determine layout and assembly sequence
  • Operate automated wire cutting and stripping machines to prepare wires to precise specifications
  • Perform crimping, stripping, soldering, and insertion of terminals, pins, and connectors using hand tools and crimping presses (manual, pneumatic, or automated)
  • Apply wire and connector labels using LEHR’s standardized labeling system for traceability and serviceability
  • Assemble and route wires into bundles, looms, or protective sleeving per harness design
  • Conduct visual and continuity testing to ensure compliance with LEHR’s quality and safety standards
  • Maintain and calibrate labeling, cutting, and crimping machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Accurately record production data, part numbers, and inspection results in LEHR’s manufacturing system
  • Identify and communicate nonconforming materials or assembly issues to the Lead Harness Technician
  • Follow all LEHR safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the Vehicle Harness Department
