About The Position

The Vehicle Title Specialist is responsible for providing document handling support and for verifying received paperwork according to established DMV policies and internal procedures. The candidate best suited for the position will have excellent communication, attention to detail, punctuality, and organization skills including Micro Soft Office competency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with DMV policies and procedures.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience with at least 1 year of DMV title transfer experience, preferably in the sub-prime auto finance industry
  • Strong multi state knowledge of DMV title processes and electronic lien title programming
  • Experience with DMV/BPA and other related DMV documents for both new and used vehicles
  • ELT program knowledge, preferably with “Premier eTitle Lien”
  • Knowledge of DMV regulations pertaining to registration processing
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Must be able to read instruction manuals, understand concepts and disseminate the information to others
  • Able to effectively communicate with high level Executives

Responsibilities

  • Keep title paperwork moving according to established timelines.
  • Constant contact with dealers and DMV to notify of errors, missing documents and due dates.
  • Audit paperwork against DMV policies, providing notice to dealers, consumers, and to DMV as set by company procedures.
  • Access customer data for printing required paperwork.
  • Provide support to clients by answering questions and finding solutions on error found during the audit process.
  • Any other task required to facilitate the movement of paperwork from the client to DMV and back to the end Customer.
  • This individual will also interact with other departments as a service-provider.
  • Coordinate and assist customers and vendors in the timely transfer of all titles.
  • Follow up with various DMV’s, vendors, titling agencies, auctions, and customers to ensure that titles and necessary documentation are received in a timely manner.
  • Follow up to obtain titles that have not been received.
  • Apply for duplicate/lost titles as necessary.
  • Review all vehicle titles upon receipt to ensure asset is properly secured and proper lien is in place.
  • Process titles after contract is disposed.
  • Issue bill of sales as required.
  • Process title requests for asset management as required.
  • Provide high level of service to customers, vendors and staff while initiating and pursing methods for increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Use company software to perform tasks accurately and efficiently and update database with accurate title information as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between various internal departments and outside companies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company information.
  • Comply with all company policies.
  • Other responsibilities may also include filing re-organization, securitization, title release requests, pulling booked accounts and paid accounts scheduled for release and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the department Manager/ Supervisor.
