About The Position
We are partnering with an on-demand autonomous ride-hailing company to hire an engineering-focused Vehicle Technician to support the readiness and reliability of its fleet vehicles. This is a hands-on shop role performing maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and fleet reworks in a fast-moving autonomous vehicle environment.
Requirements
- 2–4+ years of automotive technician experience
- Strong knowledge of vehicle repair methods, tools, and systems
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Forklift operation experience (Cal/OSHA-compliant certification required)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Able to pass background check, MVR, and drug screen
Nice To Haves
- Experience in automotive engineering or R&D labs
- Knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams, or soldering
- Trade school certificate or Associate degree in automotive repair
- Experience towing trailers or fleet vehicles
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections
- Complete multi-point inspections and quality control checks
- Document work and findings in a service platform
- Configure and sign off vehicles for safe on-road operation
- Coordinate repairs and escalate issues to engineering as needed
- Maintain tools, parts inventory, and shop organization
- Follow all safety, PPE, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, Cal/OSHA)
