This position is focused on the design and development of Subframe systems to support future body in white (BIW) architectures. You will be responsible for developing design solutions for subframes that use advanced techniques to meet all system requirements. You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Release, Develop and Launch Subframe components.

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop sub-frame components, system requirements and specifications to achieve best-in-class structural, NVH and crash performance from conceptualization to mass production.
  • Create vehicle-aligned component and system targets for function, cost, weight and investment.
  • Develop 3D geometry and design concepts that solve challenging crash load case problems while balancing construction, material, and manufacturing methods
  • Work with large assemblies to develop concepts for quick CAE analysis and further refine designs for prototyping and production.
  • Optimize the concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments, ensuring conformation to federal regulations governing assigned systems.
  • Develop, study, and implement novel construction techniques and drive them to production feasibility.
  • Create component and subsystem design verification plans and test methods.
  • Enable effective communications with Packaging, Advanced Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supplier activities to deliver optimal design solutions
  • Challenge existing design requirements and define new design requirements for system sizing, functions, and features based on regulations, first principles, and product attributes.
  • Develop tools, methods, and techniques for the development of the structures at a faster pace.
  • Support presentations of concepts and status to senior management and internally to Company personnel.
