Vehicle Service Technicians are responsible for the daily readiness of EMS units and supplies. The VST primary role is ensuing our ambulances are cleaned, stocked and prepared for deployment to crews as they go in service. The VST will also maintain the supply room and facilitate filling supply and equipment request. They will assist the Logistics Supervisor in transportation and delivery of units for repairs when needed. This is a key role to help our team meet compliance regulations, reduce downtime, maintain and deliver a clean and professional appearance while delivering high-quality transportation services, patient care, and customer service to our customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
  • Valid State Driver’s License.
  • Emergency Medical Technician certification or demonstrated EMS knowledge.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and execute verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Driving Record in compliance with AmeriPro EMS policies.
  • Insurable under AmeriPro EMS standards.
  • Basic computer operational understanding.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under time constraints.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and balance 110 pounds; ability to exert on a regular basis 50 pounds of force and at times up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to bend and stoop, ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination, color recognition, close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, good manual dexterity, with the ability to perform all tasks related to Vehicle Service Technician duty.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical check off of vehicle. (Checks mechanical fluid levels, tires, and operational status of all lights and equipment)
  • Requisition supplies for replacement.
  • Restock ambulance supplies daily.
  • Clean ambulances inside and outside.
  • Ensure deep cycling of monitor batteries as required.
  • Document condition of ambulance and equipment when turned in by crews at the end of their shifts.
  • Reports any damage to units or equipment.
  • Manages stock room supplies and equipment.
  • Must be professional and appropriately dressed at all times.
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
