About the position

The Vehicle Sales Representative (VSR) serves as the frontline sales agent for vehicle sales at Ryder, responsible for executing marketing plans, managing customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with sales processes. This role requires collaboration with various functional groups within the organization to meet sales projections and provide exceptional customer service. The VSR will also manage inventory and administrative tasks related to vehicle sales.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the frontline sales representative for vehicle sales, both in person and online.
  • Execute the UTC's marketing plan, including product selection for marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate outbound marketing efforts such as phone calls and marketing mailers.
  • Liaise between Asset Management, Rental, and Lease product lines.
  • Ensure accuracy and content of the Lead Tracker database.
  • Understand the used vehicle marketplace and local competitors.
  • Cover for the Vehicle Sales Manager (VSM) in their absence as needed.
  • Structure and sell ancillary products to meet customer needs.
  • Develop and expand relationships with existing customers to ensure retention.
  • Manage overall effectiveness of the UTC website for content and data accuracy.
  • Accountable for vehicle inventory movement and security.
  • Maintain vehicle quality and appearance through washing and detailing.
  • Perform weekly yard checks with required documentation.
  • Manage unit files and sales recording systems, including legal documents.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and other regulations.
  • Maintain vehicle sales compliance with local, state, and federal agencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 to 3 years of sales and/or customer service experience required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and self-directed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with the general public and customers.

  • Experience in the automotive industry.
