About The Position

Intramotev is seeking a skilled Vehicle or Industrial Electrical Technician to join our team in St. Louis, MO. This role is pivotal in supporting the development of our self-propelled rail vehicles through both factory fabrication and high-impact field service. You will be responsible for the assembly of complex electrical systems and providing lifecycle support to ensure our autonomous fleet remains operational at customer sites. This is a full-time, in-office position that requires approximately 25% domestic travel to support field operations and customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or certification in Electrical Systems, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working on large-scale electrical systems for vehicles (e.g., trucks, construction equipment) or heavy industrial equipment (e.g., presses, assembly lines).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% for field service and customer support.
  • Ability to develop innovative approaches and expand into technical areas beyond your immediate area of expertise.
  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor.
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Electric Vehicle (EV) powertrains or high-voltage battery management systems (BMS).
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as CAN bus.
  • Knowledge of rail industry safety standards and equipment.
  • Experience with fabrication tools, shop equipment, and electrical diagnostic software.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the electrical assembly of large-scale self-propelled rail vehicles, including the installation of electrical controllers, battery systems, and electric motor systems.
  • Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of fielded vehicles to ensure operational and functional requirements are met.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to address and resolve electrical issues related to high-voltage and low-voltage systems throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Translate electrical requirements and interface specifications into physical wiring and hardware layouts.
  • Support the testing and validation of system performance, ensuring all hardware meets rigorous industrial safety and performance standards.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to provide feedback on manufacturability and system performance.
  • Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, field service actions, and system modifications.
