About The Position
The Vehicle Operations Specialist position at Rivian involves a variety of responsibilities centered around ensuring the quality and readiness of vehicles for delivery. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of vehicle presentation and operational efficiency. The specialist will be responsible for washing the exterior of vehicles and cleaning the interiors to prepare them for customer delivery. Additionally, the role includes shuttling vehicles to and from secondary locations, which may involve both customer and fleet vehicles. A significant part of the job entails facilitating vehicles through the pre-delivery inspection process. This includes conducting cosmetic inspections, performing dynamic test drives, and utilizing tools such as compressed air and torque wrenches. The specialist will also conduct quality control processes for delivery-ready vehicles, ensuring that any defects are communicated effectively to the service department. Maintaining the delivery readiness of vehicles and managing the inventory lot to ensure safe and usable drive lanes are also key responsibilities. The position requires the preparation, inspection, and staging of customer trade-ins for transport to auctions. The Vehicle Operations Specialist will also be expected to complete additional tasks as requested by the leadership team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to the needs of the operation.
