About The Position

The Vehicle Integration Engineer's primary responsibility is ensuring that all vehicle systems function seamlessly together, from initial design through production. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components, ensuring compatibility, functionality, and quality standards. This involves developing and validating vehicle performance, identifying and resolving issues, and optimizing component placement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related Field
  • 2+years of experience in product or software development
  • Knowledge of Test, validation, and/or integration experience
  • Proficiency in Software methodologies
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, vehicle development processes and issue resolution methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Engineering Principles (i.e. problem-solving techniques, design techniques, worst case analysis, validation/verification methods)
  • Existing customer driver experience (proving ground/driving certification) or must pass L2 driver and trailer training within first 6 months of hire date
  • Confidence in pulling trailers up to MDOT certification for data collection/validation
  • Know-how in over-all design process for all disciplines (Software, Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Test)
  • Knowledge of functional safety and cybersecurity
  • Knowledge of ASPICE / Stages Processes, Change and Configuration Management
  • Demonstrated capability to work in global team environment
  • Experience with Automotive Electronic/Electromechanical products and CAN/FlexRay/Ethernet communication BUS systems
  • Very good organizational, decision-making and communication skills
  • English level: Advanced, solid written and oral communication skills
  • Basic computer skills including common office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, DOORs, Jira, Confluence)
  • Must be willing to work off-site for assignments
  • Must be willing to travel to support internal and external customers
  • Familiarity with automotive systems, components, and integration
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of various components and systems (electrical, mechanical, software) into the vehicle architecture, ensuring compatibility and proper functionality. Targeted at ADAS system integration into vehicle test properties.
  • Develop and validate vehicle performance based on customer expectations and technical targets.
  • Identify and resolve integration issues, including root cause analysis and developing effective solutions.
  • Optimize component placement and ensure clearance within the vehicle architecture.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure the integrated systems meet design, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of vehicle integration activities and issues.
  • Analyze vehicle-level performance data and use issue resolution methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis).
  • Ensuring the seamless integration of Autonomous Mobility systems within the vehicle architecture
