About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Vehicle Fleet Mechanic III to join our team in Clayton, OH! Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30AM – 3:00PM; hours may vary based on business demand. Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Three years of experience performing mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the company’s vehicle fleet including Electric and Propane Forklifts, Reach Trucks, Order Pickers, Tuggers, and Industrial Carts.
  • Perform tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity under general supervision.
  • Review service requests for repairs and maintenance, determine the nature of the problem, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
  • Perform repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on the entire vehicle fleet.
  • Perform work based on dispatched service or daily/weekly work schedules.
  • Review work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc.).
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair all facility and production associated equipment in compliance with all company regulations and standards.
  • Identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.
  • Analyze equipment failures, inspect, replace, alter, and maintain in good repair all building and production services and related equipment.
  • Comply with all governmental, company, and industrial regulations, codes, and standards, health safety practices, and permit systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
  • Maintain a strict schedule to be successful in the assignment yet demonstrate flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
