About The Position

Leads and directs a team responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fleet management strategy to enhance vehicle acquisition, maintenance reliability, and cost optimization while ensuring safety remains a top priority. This role establishes and oversees centralized governance through policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices. Managing a fleet of 400+ vehicles across the USA and Mexico, the Fleet Asset Manager will add value to support capital projects and business operations efficiently. Additionally, this position fosters strong relationships with the company’s fleet services provider, contractors and suppliers to drive quality and ensure reliable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a 4-year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically requires 8 years of related experience.
  • Documentation & Records Management - Creating, distributing, using, maintaining and disposition of recorded information maintained as evidence of business activities and transactions.
  • Fleet Management - Overseeing the systems, processes, and tools that work together to control the entire lifecycle of business vehicles.
  • Fleet Operations Management - The process of organizing and coordinating a fleet of commercial vehicles, with the aim of improving efficiency, reducing costs, and complying with government regulations.
  • Internal Controls - Internal control, as defined by accounting and auditing, is a process for assuring of an organization's objectives in operational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable financial reporting, and compliance with laws, regulations and policies. A broad concept, internal control involves everything that controls risks to an organization.
  • Logistics Management - The part of the supply chain process that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective flow and storage of goods, services, and related information from the point of origin to the point of consumption to meet customer requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance - Ensuring an organization's adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
  • Vehicle Driving - The controlled operation and movement of a vehicle.
  • Vehicle Maintenance Management - All aspects involving vehicle upkeep to ensure fleets are fit for use and in good operating condition.
  • Vehicle Purchasing & Leasing - The process of buying or leasing a vehicle.
  • Vehicle Scheduling/Dispatching - Assigning vehicle drivers to their routes and structure those routes so as to optimize workloads and driver availability.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and enhances a comprehensive fleet management program and strategy covering light-duty vehicles (trucks, vans, sedans, etc.), asset management, standardization, maintenance, fuel management, and fleet software (tracking, safety, etc.), among other key areas.
  • Leads and oversees a team of Fleet Analysts located in the USA and Mexico, ensuring effective collaboration and performance to support business objectives.
  • Collaborates with teams across the organization to ensure vehicles are available and used effectively to meet changing business needs.
  • Develops strategies to manage vehicle lifecycles, reduce costs, and support environmental goals.
  • Ensures all vehicle operations meet safety, legal, and environmental standards.
  • Introduces systems and processes to improve how vehicle performance is tracked and reported.
  • Manages all aspects of the organization’s vehicle operations, including daily use, maintenance, budgeting, and long-term planning.
  • Manages fleet-related budgets and provides regular updates on key performance indicators to leadership.
  • Works with procurement to evaluate and negotiate agreements with vehicle and equipment providers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
