As an Entry Level Electrical Engineer I, you will support the development of modern vehicle control systems, focusing on PLC Programming & Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and embedded software for refuse body operations. Key responsibilities include: Assist in the design and development of electrical control systems for refuse vehicles. Support the creation and testing of software for vehicle body control functions. Collaborate with senior engineers to build and evaluate system prototypes. Learn and apply industry standards for vehicle safety, reliability, and performance. Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of system issues. Contribute to the development of user-friendly interfaces (UI/UX) for vehicle operators. Document designs, test results, and system configurations.

  • Assist in the design, programming, simulation, and testing of vehicle control systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to understand system requirements and support integration efforts.
  • Learn to develop and test Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and control software using industry-standard tools and platforms.
  • Gain exposure to programming languages such as C, C++, and structured text (IEC 61131-3), Python, AI coding tools and Fluid power
  • Support basic troubleshooting and diagnostics of electrical and control systems.
  • Learn to work with communication protocols like CAN Bus and J1939 through hands-on experience and mentorship.
  • Contribute to the development of control systems that improve vehicle performance and user experience.
  • Assist in ensuring designs meet safety and environmental standards.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to support design reviews, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and participate in cross-functional meetings.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, equivalent technical degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, control theory, or HMI design (coursework or internships).
  • Exposure to programming languages such as C, C++, or structured text (IEC 61131-3).
  • Design and development of Control System applications including generating PLC logic or other mobile controller platforms.
  • Interest in vehicle systems, automation, or industrial controls.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced engineering environment.
