Requirements

  • Merchandise or inventory management experience, preferably in automotive retail or automotive-related industry
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent, advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Dealersocket and Automotive Inventory Software
  • Valid in-state driver's license with a driving record that adheres to company standards
  • Strong written & verbal communication, managerial, problem-solving and team-building skills
  • Demonstrate self-assurance, self-confidence and a strong desire to work in a demanding but rewarding atmosphere

Responsibilities

  • Identifies appropriate used vehicle and negotiates buying prices by appraising vehicles using VAuto Data with the goal of purchases vehicles under 100% of cost to market.
  • Appraise all purchases in VAuto and include photos and notes.
  • Understands vehicle condition and the subsequent costs involved in reconditioning and makes financially sound purchasing decisions for the company
  • Conducts test drive for any used car prior to buying and evaluates for dents, scratches, damage, mechanical issues, bad Carfax, etc.
  • Tracking data of purchases and understanding which vehicles have the quickest and longest sale turns, highest and lowest gross profit, and overall profitability. This data is key to growing and filling our needs in the used car department.
  • Acquisition Specialist is not to buy less then desirable vehicles based on historical sales data (VAuto, Spotlight Management Tool)
  • Completing all paperwork necessary to facilitate a purchase
  • Retrieve payments from Office staff to deliver to customer
  • KBB ICO Leads: Acquisition Specialist will contact all leads in a timely manner via phone, text, and e-mail until customer is reached and communicated with
  • Service Appointment Customers: Each customer will get a proposal with a range of current value of their vehicle and customer will know we would like to purchase their vehicle today
  • Call and confirm each appointment for next day and conduct introduction
  • Call customers while their vehicle is in service department to let them know “We have another customer that wants to buy their car today. Ask if we can appraise their vehicle today and put a good for 7 days offer on the unit”
  • Have new model year vehicles pulled up in service for customer to demo
  • Use CRM for equity mining leads and generate proposals and mail to customers
  • Generate “Blind Trades” or “Subject to See” proposals for customers that do not have their vehicle at the dealership
  • Lease turn ins: Explore each grounded lease for the option to buy
  • Promote and advertise we are a lease-end resource for customers
  • Social Media: Acquisition Specialist will recruit customers to sale us their vehicles on Facebook Market place, Instagram, You Tube, and other selling platforms for consumers. Local newspaper ads and consumers with sale signs in vehicles should be reached out to. Gathering phone numbers off for sale signs and calling those people
  • Input and manage purchased vehicles in all requisite company software’s, including: VAuto, CDK, Elead and Google Docs
  • Communicate as needed with the Business Office, Used Car Manager, and customers
  • Track all purchased vehicle documentation, including titles, payoff checks, etc. Should not give customer check until we have clean title or payoff information in hand with signed Power of Attorney
  • Ability to drive an exceptional Customer experience
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional communication, prospecting and interspersal skills
  • Maintain customer contact and records within the Elead CRM
  • Stock in purchased vehicles correctly
  • Answer frequently asked questions about the KBB/ICO program
  • Run Vehicle Carfax to ensure not to offer to purchase vehicles with salvage titles and/or branded titles
  • Establish contact with customers, and set appointments for vehicles to be appraised
  • Performance Expectations 20 vehicle purchases and/or traded per month $2,000 retail gross front end profit average (excluding F&I) on vehicles purchased by Vehicle Acquisition Specialist. 59 day max turn on vehicles purchased by Vehicle Acquisition Specialist.
